Agoura Hills is a city in Los Angeles County and straddles the border between the county of Los Angeles to the east,west and south and Ventura County to the north. It is approximately 30 miles west of downtown Los Angeles and less then 10 miles west of the Los Angeles City limits(Woodland Hills) ans is located in the eastern Conejo Valley.
The area was first settled by the Chumash Indians and later by Spanish Fransican missionaries.
Agoura Hills is called the "Gateway to the Santa Monica Mountains National GRecreation Area". The city is unofficially divided into a number of varied districts centered around the modern Downtown area of the city. Notably -Downtown-Forest Cove,South End,Malibu Junction,East Agoura and Old Agoura.
